the day i found my long lost lens.

I found my 50mm lens yesterday. What joy to re-find something that you forgot you had! It's like receiving a new lens all over again. :) So.... I was playing around, and.... F stop and exposure... you are my new best friends.

Today I'm off to a Zambia fundraiser and then going to my dear friend's wedding. She is cousins with some of my close friends and so I know most of the people in the wedding. It's going to be so much fun and she'll make such a lovely bride.... but I just know I'm going to be an emotional mess. The father-daughter dance gets me every time. I'm excited though! I'm so blessed with amazing friends, and it's so neat to have such amazing people grow up and move on, in life, with.

Happy Saturday!

this globe has been getting lots of use in our house lately... africa is getting close.

my monday night.

I ran this afternoon, for the first time in a couple weeks. It's amazing how much 3 miles can wear you out if your body's not used to it! I'm hoping to do the running portion of a triathlon when I go to Prineville, for the 4th of July,....so....training here I come. ;)
Dinner was so yummy tonight. Chicken, rolls and potato salad.....but brothers. MY brother made it into a biology project. Yup. No surprise there. ;) Hehe, it was really cute.

Joshua came over towards the end of dinner, and by the time we were all through talking and we started to clear the table, this was what his plate looked like. ^^ ;)

What do your "at home" evenings look like? Tonight was a good example of my evenings at home, and since I had my camera out to take a picture of D's plate, I decided to document it. :)

Mom and Joshua. No clue what they were talking about, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with solving world hunger. Ooooor, myabe they were debating what brands of bread are the best. Ya, maybe it was that. ;)

DISHES. Dishes are a part of  every evening around here. You can always here the dishes clicking and the water running. And if Dawson's doing them, you can also hear singing. LOUD singing. :)

If Joelle's on duty....I'm not sure what you hear. It's what you seeee that counts...

Mom was looking at Etsy, just like she has been every night for the past MONTH. :) She's planning to start a shop so she's been on every night. It's been fun.

Zambia is getting closer and closer!!! We're buying tickets this week!!!!! We're all SO EXCITED! Dad was looking at tickets and things tonight. He was reading us the travel itinerary at dinner, and it's gonna be a long trip, my friends. LONG. But fun, amazing, warm, exciting, productive, crazy, and life changing, annnnnnnd so I'm pretty sure that makes up for it. :)

One Jehovah's Witness lady, that had been coming to our house lately, came over tonight to chat with mom. Her husband came along too. They had a pretty interesting conversation from the bits and pieces I caught. I was in the bathroom giving dad a haircut. :) We were listening to Josh Turner, and discussing baby names for our friends who are having a baby soon. Some were funny and some were....uh... hilarious. :)

So, tonight, I officially made my last attempt at raising one eyebrow. It failed. Epicly.

I couldn't bite it.

brock the brother/boy with the birthday.

My buddy, my pal, my not-so-little brother is turning 16 today. 16!!

He was my fellow fort-builder, movie-making, dressup-ing, song-singing, snake-catching, barbie-playing, puddle-jumping, buddy.

I hate this picture of me, but Brock loves it cause he looks so much taller then me. (Which he is!!)

We've had so many good times together. We've gotten through many an argument, and past a lot of our differences. In this past year he's become more of a friend then a little brother. Even though he still ticks me off sometimes, I consider him to be one of my best friends.

So now, instead of dressing up and building forts with me, he is my fellow car-driving, tennis-playing, Zambia-going, mile-running, serious-talking, epic movie-watching, music-playing friend.

Thanks for being my buddy.
Love ya Man!

Happy Birthday to the best 16 year old ever!

through binoculars.

Tonight we had a little adventure, through binoculars.

At 8:30, we all arrived home tired and hungry, from all the different directions we had been this evening. We were barely settling in when Dawson glanced out the window and told Mom, "look a crash!" We were all like, "what?!" Sure enough... down at the curve on Hill Rd. there was a car with the front mashed in and the hood was smoking like crazy. The other car had flipped over the fence into the field and was laying on its side. Mom went out onto the porch to watch for people emerging from the cars, while calling 911. After she gave them the details she drove down the hill to see what she could do. That's when Dad brought the binoculars out. ;)

We could hear the sirens from the ambulance and police cars coming around the corner. We called mom and she told us that everyone was ok. Both the drivers were 17, and the guys who had to go to the ER were the kids in the car that had flipped over.

Mom was able to pray with one of the drivers who was in shock. She was in a rolling car accident when she was 17 and so she could relate.

We kept watching as the EMT's loaded the guys in the ambulance and took them to the hospital to get checked out. The whole time, Dawson kept telling me, "Kenna my knees are shaking. Is everyone ok? My knees are shaking". The whole thing kinda shook him up.

It was exciting to watch, but we're thankful no one was seriously injured.

So, that was tonight's adventure...
....through binoculars.
:)

Have you ever seen a car crash up close?

Have you ever had to call 911?? This was my first time experiencing something like this up close and personal. I would like to hear your exciting story!

pintresting tuesday.

I'm not really in the writing mood right now so you just get to look at most of the pictures without me blabbing the whole time. ;)
By the way- I'm reeeeeally liking the sound of this band right now. Love them. Their voices blend SO well together!
I thought you might like to listen a bit while you're reading. ;)

This is such a good idea! Sparklers + a slow shutter speed = WIN!!!
I'd love to have fireworks at my wedding...

I'm making some of these for my room. Sha-weet.

Ok so THIS is cool.

I've always wanted to do this!! Maybe this summer...... :)

My horribly messy room (when everything is on display)..... ya. I call that "my weekend room". When I change a thousand times for a thousand different things (runs, parties, movie nights, sleepovers, church, car washes, cash dashes) and have NO time to clean anything up (and yes, of course everything goes on the floor)..... my room is A MESS.

It's like a museum.

white tail and red feather.

pintresting tuesday make-up.

Sorry for missing Pintresting Tuesday, but with the excitement of the fawn and all I kinda spaced it. ;)

Ok, look at these winners I found!

I think this just reminds me of Robin Hood..... so I love it. Nuff said. :)

I have always loved horses, and lately I've been wanting to do a horse photoshoot with kids. Isn't this dreamy??

Forget bear hugs. Tiger hugs.... YEEEESSS.....

:)

This is the little girl I babysit. She's always hungry.

This is so creepily awesome.

This is SO CUTE! Love her headband, and the lighting- how it's almost all washed out from the sun. Very vintage.

:)

Love her hair. Too cute!

This makes me laugh, and laugh, and laugh!!!!

the fawn.

Oh, what a weekend. Three cheers for a successful garage sale!! We went up to Katelyn's grad party for a bit in the afternoon, ate dinner at Taco Bell, and then relaxed and watched a movie. :) We had church up at the Blanchard's on Sunday, the boys went swimming in the creek, and Katelyn and I relaxed and looked at Pintrest. ;) We went to a fun concert that night, went out to ice cream and to the park. :)
Yesterday we were all tired. Who knew how much work a garage sale took!! Man oh man. It was fun to work with friends though.
Today I did laundary, school, picked Brock up from drum lessons, and more school. I was just getting tired of sitting inside, this afternoon, when Dawson came running inside and said, "There's a fawn in the trees, and I got, from me to you away from it"! I was a little skeptical. But, I ran down to look, and sure enough, the little guy was standing right next to Brock! I really wanted to pet it, but I was scared. Finally I did, and it was so soft and furry. It didn't even flinch when I touched it the first time, but the second time (after D ran up to get the camera) it pushed it's head up to rub on my hand. Aww.. it was the cutest little guy.
Then I came up with the bight idea to feed him an apple. Weelll, as Brock pointed out (once I had my apple all ready on a stick), "Um, it drinks milk".
Right.
Soooo.... after decided we probably shouldn't feed it milk in case the mamma wouldn't come back....we left it alone.

It was fun though! ;)

Have you ever had an awesome experience with wild animals?

(By wild I mean in the wild. Not lions and tigers. Well... I guess it could be lions and tigers..... )

=)
